AI Photo Processing Terms

When these terms apply

These details apply when you choose Portrait Engine to transform a photo into artwork, use Outfit Match to create a case design coordinated with your clothing, or use “Remaster for print (AI)”. Outfit Match uses an outfit photo and an optional fabric close-up; a face is not required. We process your photo, your editing instructions and the generated result to provide that feature and prepare your case design.

Selecting and cropping a photo takes place in your browser. Before sending an AI request, you select the AI feature and accept the AI Photo Processing Terms. Accepting the standard Photo Upload Terms does not select an AI feature.

AI provider and international processing

We use an external AI service provider under a data-processing agreement. Requests pass through our Cloudflare infrastructure. Processing may take place outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, with applicable transfer safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your uploaded photos and generated images are not used to train AI models through our use of the service. Processing still includes the provider's safety and abuse checks.

Photo retention

The AI provider's standard abuse-monitoring logs may contain inputs and outputs and are generally retained for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is legally required. Flagged image content can be retained for safety review. This provider retention is separate from RPX customs' temporary image storage.

Our temporary photo and design storage uses AWS in Frankfurt. Photos, previews and generated designs in this storage are deleted automatically 72 hours after upload or creation. The deletion run takes place once a day, so the actual removal can follow one to two days later. For an ordered design the period starts again at payment, so that we can print it. Our Privacy Policy explains deletion and retention for order processing. Browser history and provider safety logs are separate from those order records. Deleting your browser history or closing a preview does not itself delete a provider's safety logs.

Review your design

AI can change details or produce unexpected results. Review the artwork before ordering. You choose whether to use it; we do not place an order automatically. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Prompt Engine creates artwork from text without requiring a photo. Text prompts are also processed by the AI provider; avoid including personal information you do not need for the design.

Who handles your photo

RPX customs is operated by PixelGravity GmbH, Straße der Jugend 18, 14974 Ludwigsfelde, Germany, the controller responsible for this processing. Contact: hello@robopixel.eu.

Your photo and your rights

You retain your rights to your uploaded photo. You give us permission to use it to provide the service you select, including preparing your design, printing and quality checks. We do not use uploaded photos for advertising or to train AI models. Only upload images you own or have permission to use, including permission from people shown where required.

Do not upload unlawful, hateful, violent or sexually explicit content, or content that infringes another person's rights. We may decline content that violates these requirements.

Legal basis and your choices

Our German Privacy Policy describes the use of AI service providers for our services on the basis of legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: providing our services efficiently and making effective use of available resources and technology. Processing necessary to fulfil your order is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

You choose whether to use the AI feature. The checkbox confirms acceptance of these AI Photo Processing Terms. You can use a standard photo or a ready-made design instead.

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact hello@robopixel.eu. We will stop that processing unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds overriding your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Privacy choices and contact

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object where applicable. You can complain to a supervisory authority, including the Brandenburg data protection authority. Contact us to exercise your rights or request information about transfer safeguards. We do not use your photo to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
